A MAGAZINE CREATED FROM
    THE SUFFOCATION OF OUR
  BLOSSOM YEARS.

ABOUT
After Nine is less a magazine and more an art collection — a space for shared reflection through creative expression.

STORY
The project began in 2020, during the first lockdown, when isolation reshaped how we thought, connected, and understood the world. With physical interaction suspended, ideas had nowhere to go. Art became a way to process, question, and communicate what at the time couldn’t be lived out.

After the pandemic, despite the regained freedoms, the overwhelming sense of suffocation remained. Constant news cycles, political tension, and a collapsing future demanded new forms of release. Art once again became a tool for catharsis.

What started as gathering work from friends grew into a collective response to suffocation — emotional, political, and social. The magazine became a platform for expression, documentation, and exchange, capturing how a generation meets uncertainty, crisis, and change.

Printed-only by choice, After Nine stands against digital saturation and toward tangible connection — a collective journal of its time, shaped by isolation, urgency, and the need to be seen and connected.

TITLE
After Nine borrows its title from the curfew imposed during quarantine — a time when movement was restricted, but thought remained. It reflects a space of reflection, imagination, and expression that emerges after limitation.

thinking after 9 PM, creating after 9 PM, existing beyond imposed boundaries — both literally and metaphorically.

FORMAT
The magazine is published exclusively in print, as a response to the alienation of the digital age.

The physical object encourages human connection, materiality, and the resilience of ideas.

It serves as a call for real gatherings and communities, moving beyond the fleeting nature of the screen.

TEAM

Georgine Tourousi_Graphic Designer_@georginatrs
With a First Class Honours title and an awarded member of the International Society of Typographic Designers (ISTD). A typography enthousiast, with a strength in creative directing and concept work. Coming from Athens, Greece has deeply influenced my approach in design always finding myself exploring the urban streetscape and communication, the vernacular, the everyday.

Athina Vasiloglou_Photographer & Associate Producer_@athinaornot
Someone who uses art not with a specific purpose.
Explores how it is instead of why. In search of “good ego” in the world. Media, Photography, Ceramics. A soft spot for the pure & the unconscious. Stick to see what she sees.

Maya Pipera_Founder & Creative Producer_@mayapipera
A classical piano and media student with a passion for making things happen. Realizing cultural initiatives and learning how the world works and how we can make it work better. Inspired by the independent, self organized artistic scene of Athens and constantly trying to contribute to it through projects such as After Nine Magazine.

Despite the core of the collective that After Nine has become, it could not stand without the project’s extended team.

Markella Lousidis, a multidisciplinary artist, focusing on Visual Arts - James Bradlee, a fresh filmmaker - Selini Vazaiou, an unknowingly incredible writer - Zina Desipris, a groundbreaking dj and artist - Alkistis Dimopoulou, a real media expert

and so many more who have contributed to and supported this project.

The project owes its life to the people. The contributing artists, the collectors, the hosts and the community it comes with.

EVENTS
May 2047

Beyond the collective experience the magazine creates, we want to use it as a reason to transend the confines of the pages and make a foster a real connection in the Athenian artistic community.

Instead of the Magazine remaining a platform for expression in closed drawers - we aim - for it to become an occasion - a gathering - a meeting and a potential collaboration.

To create a bridge between the dystopian, suffocating environment that gave birth to the magazine toward the optimism that the artistic community ignites.
